Finished up Patrick’s fat bike today – all that is left is some finishing work (Face and chase bottom bracket, head tube and seat tube, trim the small stub off the top of the seat tube and drill/tap the holes for the head tube badge. Then it’s off to the powder coaters. Everything went very smoothly and I’m happy with the result. Looks like a few of the parts Patrick wanted to spec are unavailable until late January and February. Sounds like this one will be a slow build. But on another note, that seems to be the general theme here with a lot of parts. Two clients ahead of him are on back order with Fox Racing Shox. So it goes!
Seat stay bridge all fitted up:
Tacking the seat stay bridge:
Good seat tube clearance and the radius of the seat tube matches the fat wheel nicely:
Final step was to add the remaining bits (bottle bosses, and 4 braze-ons for cable management):
Picked up Patrick’s 29er too from powder and refaced all the contact points post powder. Turned out very slick. I took these shots just before I added the gloss decals on the down tube. This will get safely packed up tomorrow after some shots and off it will go to Switzerland!
