As a spry youth, winter nights were spent at my trusty desk, newspaper spread out, 1/48th scale model parts festooned the table top and Testors model glue aroma permeated the air. But those decal sheets were always set aside for the cherished final step. Carefully cut out, dipped delicately into a small bath of warm water out of the bathroom tap and applied with care as best my tiny fingers could muster.
