So Patrick’s 29er is taking shape this week. His 29er will officially be the 10th frame to come out of the newly christened 44 Bikes Metal Shop. We’re officially in the double digits. Exciting stuff. Was prepping a bunch of things before the parts from Paragon arrived like bending chainstays and prepping seat tubes for both his upcoming builds:

The parts arrived bright and early for me upon my return from running an errand to Airgas East and picking up Mikes 29er and Brett’s fix from the powder coaters. Instantly got to work sorting things and prepping the stays for tacking and welding:

I’ll finish up his bottom bracket assembly first thing tomorrow morning and when his tubes arrive, most likely have the front triangle completed by weeks end:

In other news, picked up a tank cart from Airgas which was a must have item. I feel better now that my OA setup has a home and I can roll this puppy around anywhere in the shop. Organization is good:

Also scored more floor mats to take some of the fatigue out of my legs on a long day but more important, to keep my feet insulated from that cold shop floor. Clogs are a must but these definitely helped A LOT…

MATS!

Also took some time to rebuild this wheel: Main tube mitering redux! Little more solid set up and just a tad less time to set up too:

Till next time, keep the rubber side down and all your dials at ZERO:
