Patrick’s Fat Bike is just about finished up. Need to do some final tuning and minor assembly work but it’s pretty much finished. As you can see, this is not just any fat bike. Chris King, Surly Marge Lites with DT Supercomp Spokes / Alloy Nips, White Brothers Snow Pack fork, Formula Brakes, ENVE Post, Watson Ti Bars, FIZIK saddle, e13 Cranks w/ custom modified LG1+ Guide, Paul Rhub + Whub hubset custom anodized Blue, Sram XX1 drivetrain… The list is long. It took some time to put it together and make everything play nice. But it’s one hell of a build. I can’t wait to get it in his hands so he can shred some snow.

You will note that there is a XX1 drivetrain but an e13 crankset and guide. The reason for this is because there is no XX1 fat crank option. Nor is there a compatible XX1 chainring because XX1 chainrings presently use a proprietary BCD (74mm I believe). But 11spd chains are much akin to 10spd chains where they both are compatible with 3/32″ chainrings. They changed the plate thickness on 11spd but not the internal diameter between the plates. Thus the use of the e13 TRS fat crank and modified LG1+ guide. Sickness.

I had fun doing the mods:

Let's modify us some LG1+

Last but not least. This will be the only head tube badge moving forward kids. Once the others are gone, that’s it. This is the one and only 44HTB:
