I set out to make the frame's form play an integral role with its function. Take steels ability to deliver a compliant ride and refine the tubes configuration to enhance the ride and deliver a purpose built frame where everything has its place and there is no waste. I've been refining the overall angles of the head and seat tubes, adjusting trail, wheelbase, tire clearance and bottom bracket drop so that ultimately the result is a hardtail that is at home in descents, excells when ascending, delivers power through the pedals into the rear triangle for quick transitions, lets the rider pick and choose their way through the tech and allows the rider to have the most options when building up their ride. One of the most important elements is a low slung, compact main triangle coupled with a short, compliant rear triangle. I appreciate when the bike dissappears beneath the rider and provides confidence without hesitancy. Clean simple lines - a less is more ethos. I sum up this design philosophy as: Stripped Down Simplicity (SDS). More coming as I progress..
